The Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) has an Engineering Consultant Scheme whereby suitably qualified and experienced personnel are engaged to assist with the delivery of TMR projects.
TMR Darling Downs District has a Tactical Asset Management Plan that identifies road network needs and develops a series of large packages of rehabilitation works to address these needs. They also deliver major projects in the Darling Downs region, and this creates a need for additional staffing resources.
GenEng has provided Senior Engineers and Project Managers in the roles of Administrators and Administrators’ Representatives to this program since 2017. In this capacity, our staff act as representatives of TMR providing design, project and contract management for road maintenance activities, road resurfacing, and rehabilitation projects (asphalt and stabilisation), and have delivered works valued over $65M.
